Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Red Willow. No matter what your age, talents or time limits, we have ways for you to volunteer at the Bible Camp. Volunteers are really at the heart of the camp. Thanks to the many church and youth groups, family adoptions and individual effort, the camp has seen quite a transformation in the past three years!
Need an idea of how you can volunteer at camp? Here are some ways folks have been involved in our ministry:
Last year five different groups/families 'adopted' a cabin or a theme room. Some provide the materials and labor. Some groups will provide the volunteers when the materials are provided.
Each year a few church groups come to camp to rake leaves, plant flowers and do other upkeep. We can always use more groups to help with the never ending upkeep of the buildings and grounds.
This event brings out the most volunteers. Men and women donate items to our annual fall quilt auction and also work to sell raffle tickets and work at the camp the weekend of the event.
The Lutefisk and Meatball Dinner is a new fundraiser for the camp that needs volunteers to attend the event, donate items for the bake sale, and work with camp staff to set up, serve and clean up.
The Winter Fun Day is another fundraiser for the camp that relies on volunteers to attend the event, donate silent auction items, help provide wild game dishes for the meal, and work with camp staff to set up, serve and clean up.
If you are a welder, carpenter, can pour concrete, install windows and doors or possess one of a variety of other useful talents, we have a place for you at the camp. We have a shop full of donated windows that could be installed to replace ones that no longer open. We need concrete walking paths to connect the new accessible girl's cabin to the bath house and retreat center.
This is a constant need, and can be done in the retreat center all year long.
The Counselor In Training (CIT) program is for youth who are entering grades 10-12. The CIT program is a two week program, the first week is June 6-11, 2010. We will provide a week of training to equip you to work with the other summer staff and campers. You will learn how to help with and lead Bible studies, worship, campfire, games, and nightly devotionals. The second week of the CIT program is either June 13-18 (Creation Camp 1), July 11-16 (Creation Camp 2), or July 18-23, 2010 (Holy Hoops Juniors). During this week the CITs will stay in a cabin helping the Senior and Junior Counselors. This is an excellent way to prepare for a future as a counselor or program staff leader.
This leadership training is available to a limited number of high school students who are looking for an opportunity to work at Red Willow Bible Camp. The cost for the CIT program is $200.00 for both weeks and you must attend both weeks. The cost covers staff time, room and board, materials, and your t-shirt. All CITs are accepted through an application process, so please mail in your "regular" camp registration and deposit to get the process started. Please contact Allison at the camp for more information.
This service program is for students entering grades 7-12. Youth groups are invited to spend one or more days volunteering their time and talents at camp. Your group will help with the upkeep and maintenance of camp in the morning and early afternoon. In the afternoon take some time as a group to build community with team building activities and Bible study. You will have the opportunity to experience worship, campfire, swimming, and games as well. Youth groups must bring one chaperone for every eight students. Come to RWBC this summer and learn what it means to be the Hands & Feet of Christ!

Each year we depend on up to 10 volunteers to assist with our camp for campers with mental and/or physical disabilities. As a volunteer, you will stay in a cabin with other staff and volunteers. You get the opportunity to enjoy Bible study, arts and crafts, swimming, pontoon rides, worship, games, and campfire, while helping the campers. Start practicing your talents as we will, once again, have a Talent Show. Don't forget to pack your favorite outfit so you can dance the evening away at the Dance! This will be the most challenging and rewarding week of your summer. Please call the camp and talk to Allison if you are interested in being a Discovery Camp volunteer.
