Fundraising Events

Red Willow Ministries strives to provide quality, creative programming to youth and adults all year round. In order to do this, we hire qualified staff, provide recreation, program materials and great food to our guests. The income from these summer camps and year round retreats provides about 25% of our operating budget......So we rely on our Friends of Red Willow, and several fundraiser events throughout the year to supplement our modest charges.

We love having our faithful supporters and new friends visit the camp. We have worked hard over the past three years to improve the retreat center, chapel and cabins. We also added a new girls bath house and have begun an ambitious campaign to build a boys bath house next to the boys village and the chapel.

You are cordially invited to attend our fundraisers, and to get in on the fun, fellowship and philanthropy!

Walk to the Camp

May 12, 13 and 14, 2012

All done walkin'!

"Walk to the Camp" is a fundraiser for Red Willow Ministries. Participants can choose the day, the route and pace, the method of travel, and then contact the camp to let us know how we can help reach your goal. Ask your family and friends to pledge to your trek to RWBC.

It all started in 2009, when Pastor Bruce Vold of Trinity Lutheran in Carrington walked to the Bible Camp in order to raise funds for the chapel renovation project. In 2010, Pastor Bruce, Pastor Steve Berntson and Denny Goetz walked and biked to the camp and again raised money from pledges to benefit the camp.

We made it!

In 2011, Pastor Bruce and Denny did a "triathlon" - walked, biked and canoed - to the camp. They inspired another group of friends of Red Willow who also walked and ran to the camp: Nancy McKinnon, Pastor Russ and Cheryl Christiansen (pictured left), Kris Walseth, Becky Delfs, Erica Adrian, Pete and Carolyn Tunseth (pictured above right with Josh). The 2011 participants raised a grand total of $13,532.50 to benefit the camp.

Grow Exponentially! The challenge is being made again, and Pastor Bruce thinks that if we can increase from 1 in 2009, 3 in 2010 and 10 in 2011, we can have 27 or more people involved in this fundraiser this spring! Pick a day that works for you and some friends, pray about the best and most fun way to get to the Camp, ask for sponsors, and set off on your journey!

Let us know how we can help you with your run/walk/bike/paddle to the camp.
