Friends Focus
New Gym Window Installed
In December of 2007, Pete and Cathy Silbernagel donated new windows for the retreat center gym and had them delivered to the camp, where they sat safely stored in the chapel until a crew could be rounded up to install them. Spring work on cabins and a very busy summer schedule kept the installation from getting to the top of the ‘to do’ list. On October 24, a small but talented crew began the demolition work, and by October 30, 17 new windows were installed.
A big thank you goes to Ken Gilbertson, Pastor Marli Danielson, crew chiefs, and the volunteers who helped along the way: Dave and Pam Adrian, Sonny Anderson, and pastors from Carrington Conference, Sharron Lucas, Bruce Vold and Russ Christiansen.
In 2007, the concept of raising funds for stained glass windows in the camp chapel was brought to the Red Willow Ministries board. A little over a year later, over $6,000 has been donated or pledged to this project. The quilt raffle will be helpful with the additional expense for replacing the windows before the stained glass is installed.
The quilt raffle is underway until December 12, when the winning ticket is drawn. Contact the camp office to purchase tickets. You need not be present to win.

Barry Foundation Grant Update
From Denny Goetz, Co-Director
As of November 11th, Red Willow Ministries met its goal to raise $12,500 in order to match the $12,500 from the Barry Foundation. This is great news and we are so thankful for the kind responses we received from so many individuals and congregations. Download a .pdf list of donors. Thanks be to God!!
We have had an engineer evaluate the bank erosion problem again and he will be sending us a cost estimate that could go as high as $33,000, so we will be using the $25,000 for the bank erosion problem and other environmental projects that we wrote into the grant proposal. Obviously, it will not cover total cost for the retaining wall, so there will need to be further fundraising. Again, we say a big thank you!

Employment Opportunity
On September 30 we said thank you and farewell to Abbi Johnson, a familiar face at Red Willow Bible Camp for the last 10 years. Abbi first came to camp as a Counselor in Training as a 16 year old from Gwinner. She returned each summer throughout her high school and college years, and in April of 2006, was named our full time Program Director. This fall she decided to seek new challenges and moved to Fargo. She hopes to take some continuing college courses, continue with her piano and guitar playing, and see what God has in store for her future. We wish Abbi all the best as she begins a new phase of life.
This leaves an opening on our staff for a full time program director. We are accepting applications until a new person is hired to continue the important work of developing youth retreats, recruiting summer staff, and running a very busy summer camping program.
