Now that Spring has arrived (finally!), work has begun on projects throughout the camp. Carpenters have started work on the exterior of the Hospitality House, which has been adopted by Sharon Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. Also underway is the addition of a hallway to reach the Health Center, using a corner of the Program office. This will provide more privacy to patients using the Health Center and to the Program staff. Electricians are adding outlets and exit light signs to the Chapel, as well as hanging up the rest of the new globes.
Other projects planned for this spring include new windows for the Camp House, plus a deck and new lights and exhaust fan for Matthew cabin (the Arts & Crafts building, adopted by Morning Star Parish). Joshua (Trinity Lutheran of Lisbon) and Bethlehem (Grace Lutheran of Oakes) cabins will have all new mattresses. Nazareth (Maple Sheyenne of Harwood) and the Santa Fe Room (Franny Eidsness of Brocket) will each have 2 new mattresses. The camp will also be putting in a new drain field and a new heating system in the Retreat Center this summer.

We encourage parents and grandparents to remember how important the Bible camp experience was while growing up. Then think about how much more important it is for today's kids to get unhooked from the TV, internet, cell phone, and all of those electronic devices they have. Camp gives them a chance to make new friends and have fun, as well as the opportunity to grow socially, spiritually, and physically in the outdoors. Even if they do not want to go to camp on Sunday, they often will not want to leave camp by Friday! That says it all. We promise that your child will have a safe environment, well trained staff, and wonderful experiences that will positively influence them the rest of their lives.

We are listing three prices for most of our summer camps. Our camps have traditionally been heavily subsidized by donations from our Friends of Red Willow, congregations, and businesses. Last summer we decided to let families know the true cost of having a child attend camp, and gave them a choice of three tiers. While most campers paid the lower level, enough families chose to increase their giving to make a difference in our summer revenue. Red Willow Bible Camp is committed to offering a great camp experience to ALL youth, regardless of their ability to pay.
The choice is yours. Your camper will receive the same great Red Willow experience and benefits no matter which tier you choose. We also have a Scholarship Fund to assist any camper who may need some financial assistance at the Tier 1 level. We also encourage you to contact your own church office, as churches often have scholarship money available for outdoor ministry. We will not turn any camper away due to the inability to pay.

Note to churches: if you pay for a percentage of a camper's fee, please note that we do not expect your church to pay at a higher tier.
We strive to be good stewards of the fees the campers pay for camp, and the donations we receive to support Red Willow Ministries. If you have questions, please call the camp and ask to speak to Becky Goetz or Josh Silbernagel.
